Jay founded The Benson Law Firm on January 1, 2004, after nearly 20 years of practicing law as a partner in two separate Kirksville law firms. In 2005, Matt Wilson joined the firm as an associate attorney, and the firm expanded again in 2008 with the addition of attorney, Kevin O'Reilly. The lawyers of The Benson Law Firm share a commitment to determination, drive and energy expended on behalf of real people with real needs. Matt Wilson's practice areas are criminal defense in felony, misdemeanor and traffic charges, including DWI, as well as personal injury and wrongful death litigation arising from automobile/truck accidents, dangerous and defective products, premises liability and work-related injuries. Matt practiced exclusively in criminal defense litigation in northeast Missouri prior to joining The Benson Law Firm.
Kevin O'Reilly's practice areas are personal injury and wrongful death litigation arising from automobile/truck accidents, dangerous and defective products, premises liability, work-related injuries, criminal defense, general civil litigation and Social Security disability. Kevin practiced law in Lafayette, Indiana for ten years before joining The Benson Law Firm.

The Benson Law Firm has a qualified, hard-working staff available to assist with the needs of its clients. Legal Assistant Dawn Shaffer is responsible for assisting the firm and its clients in the prosecution of claims for personal injury and wrongful death as a result of motor vehicle/truck accidents, defective products, premises defects and other types of negligent, careless and reckless conduct.
Legal Assistant Deanna DeVolld assists the firm and its clients who suffer work-related injuries or death in Workers' compensation claims. Deanna also assists the firm in it's representation of criminal defendants, including those facing felony and misdemeanor charges, and driving while intoxicated, driving while revoked and other traffic charges.
Also available to assist clients of The Benson Law Firm are Vicki Benson, Office Manager, Megan Roof, Megan Nasman and Kristen Jacobs. |
