Two Commercial Motor Vehicles Collide in Construction Zone

On Saturday, September 12, 2009, Client was operating his 2007 International 9400L semi-tractor pulling a 2008 Vanguard box trailer in an easterly direction in a construction zone on U.S. Highway 54 in Camden County, Missouri.  A flagman controlling traffic in the construction zone turned his sign to indicate that westbound traffic should stop.  A 1988 Freightliner Dump Truck traveling in the westbound lane was unable to stop or slow in time to avoid striking a 1987 Freightliner Dump Truck directly in front of him, causing the 1987 Freightliner Dump Truck to swerve into the eastbound lane, directly into Client’s path, resulting in a nearly head-on collision.  Client sustained fractures to his right wrist, collarbone and a left rib, along with a large hematoma to the neck and multiple contusions and abrasions to various parts of the body.  Client still suffers pain in both legs, both feet, both arms, neck and back.
